My entry for #Bird-Photography's Angry Birds contest. This Wren was making his alarm call because an outdoor cat walked by. He was NOT happy.

Lovely shot. The details are wonderful. Were you up high, or was this little guy low, because your shot looks to be a eye level?

For this shot, I was above the bird (on my deck). HE was at my feeders on a branch a little bit below :)

I've always wanted a feeder because we have some really beautiful birds around here. In fact I do have a feeder, and the cats in the area would love it if I did use it. But for the safety of the little birds, I can't put it up.
I once did put up a hummingbird feeder, but the birds couldn't figure out what it was. *sigh*

I do have to have my feeders up high because at least one local outside cat stalks them all the time =\ He once jumped up and grabbed a finch right off the perch!! After that I raised everything up out of his reach. It's difficult though, with all of the other wildlife around. I even have to take them in every night so that the bears do not get to them!!

Bears? :wow: You must live in a pretty rural area. Where I live, we are lucky to see birds and a stray squirrel once in a while ( although I once saw two egrets walking in the ocean waves and here I only thought they stayed near fresh water). And once in a while I hear an owl.

I have woods bordering my property, so yeah. I get some pretty interesting visitors!
