This beautiful falcon is part of the Raptor Project. The lighting was very bad (indoor, artificial) so I relied on high ISO settings to get a decent shutter speed (no more than 1/200 on each photo). Noise was reduced with Define 2.0

I didn't know there were -any- Aplomados in NY... it's somewhat exciting! I'll be going to the desert southwest to help out this species in the wild this summer! Too cool
The Raptor Project is a traveling show, but I'm pretty sure that the family who does the Raptor Project lives in the Catskills. I'm hoping that I can get information about visiting their ranch when they are not traveling - they have many MANY different birds
There are several different chapters of the Raptor Project in NY... it's really neat to know that one of them has an Aplomado! I was told there is a chapter at SUNY ESF, and there is another at Cornell University.
