Barred Owlet by mydigitalmind Barred Owlet by mydigitalmind
One of the Barred Owlets who were a big hit at a local park. I think this photo was taken when *meihua was with me.

Great shot!

I've always wondered why they were barred and from what are they barred?

awwww....I miss seeing these. They died in our area. :( (always found them on the ground, feet curled up) Now we hear the occasional great horned but never see one. Haven't seen an owl since I was in high school. That's a LONG time. :iconowlplz:

Thank you. The woods were pretty dark and most of my photos are just blurry enough that I cannot use them - especially when the owls would move around.

Thank you! It helps when others let you know the general location, but they still had plenty of woods to hide in!
