I never realized how much the birds beat up the tree that I take many photos in. It's a good source for sap in the winter, so that could explain why! This was taken from my deck during a snowstorm last weekend.

They like to beat up things without sap too... like my house . I wouldn't think these little guys could do so much damage but they do. Doesn't matter what season. And I feed them suet all year round. So even in winter they have food. I know that they love to eat bugs, sometimes I put out meal worms to try and bring in blue birds and entice the woodpeckers away from my house. I have both versions of these, quite a few of the tiny ones... and a male and female of the larger version. There is also another type of large woodpecker, not sure what that one is called either. But its the little ones that I see on my house pecking away! I want to fix it, but I have to find a way to stop them first. Or else it will be a waste of money.
woah thank you!! actually it didn't take a long time to make, and i'm planning to give a try to your other photos too! especially colorful birds hope you dont mind!
