Description

This past Friday, I was on my third day of my last batch of sugar water. I haven't had any hummingbird visitors all week so I was going to take the feeders down. Then in the afternoon this little one stopped by and hung around until the evening. Needless to say, I made another batch of sugar water and refilled.

My lunch break involved me standing about 5ft away from my feeders with camera in hand. This hummingbird did not mind me there at all! I got my best shots of the season both perched and in flight.

I am not used to doing critiques of other people's work but hope I can do justice to the series of pictures of hummingbirds.
In general the whole series are extremely well shot and the clarity and focus allow us to see the detail of feathers, beak etc.
They are lovely simple images in which the colours of the out of focus backgrounds match the plumage of the small birds. The picture are well focussed and positioned while the simple branch helps the balance in many of the pictures.
My only small criticism would be that all the backgrounds are the same in general and in some could have been less blurred to give a better feel for the environment the birds are in.
