The heron downing a fish. When he catches the fish at the tip of his beak, he has to throw it in the air toward his mouth and open his throat so that he can eat it in one swallow or gulp. You can see the fish tail sticking out just below the heron's eye.

I cropped this so that it focuses on the head/neck/throat. The original shows more of his body.
