This Kestrel is part of the Raptor Project. It is the smallest falcon in North America and certainly one of the best looking (though falcons tend to be pretty birds!). The lighting was very bad (indoor, artificial) so I relied on high ISO settings to get a decent shutter speed (no more than 1/200 on each photo). Noise was reduced with Define 2.0

If you have time you should check out the Raptor Resource Project. They have many nest cams, including the Decorah Eagles, a camera set up right in a bald eagle nest with over 100 million views! The RRP director, Bob Anderson is almost single-handedly responsible for the resurgence of peregrine falcons in the Upper Mississippi Valley...
