The ponds at Johnson Park are being renovated - even though in the end this will be good for the wildlife, I was very disappointed because this would be my last visit to the park since I am moving. I was happy, however, to spot four killdeer foraging in one of the dried beds. This was my first encounter with these cute little birds.

Killdeer are known for their call and a 'wounded wing' act they use to draw predators away from their nests, which are on the ground. I've photographed these birds before, but non came out as good as this. Congrats! ^_^
