Kingfisher by mydigitalmind Kingfisher by mydigitalmind
I have a family of Kingfishers who are constantly fishing and chattering around my creek. They are tough to get close to, but now and then they are more trusting.

These guys are neat to watch, especially when they hover in the air before diving into the water and coming up with a fish. Great capture! =D

Thank you! They are very fun to watch - especially when they capture a fish and beat it up! I never knew they did that until I actually SAW it!

What?! You mean 12 noon isn't the best time of day for birding?! Shucks...

Hehe. I've seen them at noon before!! We could have seen lots more in the morning, but those Owls were calling us...
I actually didn't see or hear the Kingfishers tonight either. But I had loads of Waxwings!

Thank you! I finally got those Kingfishers!! I've been trying to get flight shots too. They give me many opportunities, but they are just so QUICK! I have at least three subjects (I'm convinced that there are four of them, but I never see all four together)
