I heard there were foxes in the neighborhood, so I knew to look out for them - little did I know that the one of the dens was in the nature trail that begins at my backyard - not too far in. I first saw two of them (the photos are not that sharp), then when I went back into the woods, this one was hanging around.
There are already blinds set up near the hole, so I plan to do some camping out next time.
The subject is nicely in focus and the background is blurred nicely. There are no distracting elements in the background. The focus in the foreground is okay but there is some distraction in the left hand cornter by the fox's tail. The path draws the viewers eye right to the subject. There are no issues with lighting in any part of the photo.
The only real improvement that I would suggest is to have a tighter crop above the fox and a wider crop on the right side so that the fox's head is less centered in the frame.
It is cropped quite a bit and lighting was very low. Even at 1600 ISO, the shutter speed was slow for being hand-held (didn't help that I was shaking from excitement!)

Overall, very nice capture.
