Ringneck Snakes are typically found under flat rocks - and that is exactly where I found this one. I lifted up this rock with the intention of supporting a new feeder pole, but it was already in use by this snake. Of course I had to get the camera for a few shots before I gave him his cover back.

I love the tiny ring necks we have a darling California ring neck that would occasionally make a showing in southern CA..."ours" have the red ring...perfect setting with the rocks and absolutely perfect setting!!!
