This week, I went to visit these Barred Owls with both =SageKorppi and *meihua on different days. On both days, the Owlets gave us great views! I have many great photos of them individually, but I love that they are together here

Here is *meihua's photo of the same Owls in pretty much the same pose, but from different angles.

Owlets are so cute :)
I like the comparison of the photos - just one more demonstration that I'd rather get a Canon than just about anything.

It is very neat to see them together. They had traveled a bit of a distance from each other when :iconsagekorppi: and I went last- we had to engage in some evening tromping.

I need to visit these guys when it is lighter out so I can get a better look.

They can be very cooperative sometimes :) If you're lucky, they will venture out into the bog and you'll get even better light. I only had that on my first day (Mom was in the light) but I didn't have enough time to stay for more photos.

It's very cool that people actually let us know when good birds are around on my local listserv. Many people got good photos of these little Owls and I am so happy to be one of them :D :D

They can be difficult to see. This time by, other birders found them first. I heard them, but could not locate!

we hear lots of different ones at night around our home, but there are just too many places for them to "be" so unless one happens to choose our eves (and we notice ) we don't spot them :(

And the best part is that they are probably so close, yet so camouflaged that you cannot see them! I don't hear any by my house, though the one time I did, I was about to leave and had no time to look around. The Barred Owls make themselves known since the young ones are making noises back and forth or to their mom.
