I've been going on some wonderful birding trips lately with some really great birders - including the mind behind eBird! We went to see if the Upland Sandpipers have returned and, as predicted, they were right where we expected. It was kind of cool to be a part of this search specifically to find the first returns in NY.

Very nice! I have that lens too and have recently been trying it out on my new 5D Mk III - I love it! Do you use a tripod or are your photos hand-held?

Thanks! I do hand hold it a lot, but try to rest my hand if possible. I just ordered a tripod, so hopefully I get to use that more now too.
